Neşe Yurtçu worked as a senior manager in the banking and IT sector for a period of more than 20 years. After completing her professional career, she took lessons from Umit Sevinc known as Turkey’s first popular chef of chefs, she entered exams held by the Turkish Ministration of Education to become a cook and was successful. Aiming to increase the awareness of Turkish cuisine in the world, she gave Turkish Cooking Lessons to foreign mission representatives and expats and their spouses in Istanbul for more than 3 years. She has started up her cookery blog named www.TurkishYummies.com in 2002. She is pursuing her book sales and continuing her Turkish Cooking Lessons in London.

With the motivation of the participants of her Turkish Cooking Classes, Neşe Yurtçu has written the Turkish Yummies book which consists of the recipes of typical Turkish dishes frequently made in Turkish kitchens and mostly prepared during her classes. The book has been written with a language in which not only the experienced book but also the new starters can move on. Particular attention has been paid to ensure that everyone, even those who have no clue about the Turkish cuisine can follow and prepare recipes. Every  recipe has a picture so while preparing one can visualize the outcome.

Turkish Yummies is only available in English, to increase the number of books in English about Turkish cuisine. There is a wide range of vegetarian options in the book, which includes 163 recipes including soups, starters, main courses, cookies and beverages. The measures in the recipes have been prepared according to the metric system. For each recipe specific tips and historical or regional information has been added. Nese Yurtcu, with the Turkish Yummies cookery book, aimed to contribute to the awareness about Turkish cuisine and promote Turkish gourmet tourism.
