I lived the 3 past years in Istanbul in Turkey.

Perhaps because I’m French, I love cooking and I’m always interested in discovering new type of kitchen.

I was lucky to meet Nese Yurtcu in Istanbul, as she is a really good cook. As I heard she had “cooking classes”, we decided to organize cooking lessons with her, especially for French women. I must say it was a real success to discover Turkish food and how to cook some specialties from this country.

Nese was very open minded. In order to prepare each class, she showed me a lot of recipes, and asked me to choose with her witch one will be more appropriate for us, regarding our culture and our desires, to learn during her teaching. She could manage to cook about 6-7 different types of food each type. It was very interactive because everyone could share or participate to any recipes of the group.

Of course, it was all delicious, but the interesting part is that Nese taught us lots of “tricks” about cooking. How to cook and prepare some vegetables, fruits and meat, and this is why it was interesting to do it like that. Now that I’m back in France, I’m still using some of her technics in my kitchen, and really missed those classes where I learned a lot.
